Orbit

A native macOS app that runs many Google accounts as separate, instantly switchable windows. No reloading, no mixing up which inbox you're replying from.

Orbit for Mac - Every Google account, in a single window | Product Hunt

Overview

Anyone juggling a work, personal, and client Google account knows the tax: constant re-logins, mixed-up tabs, and the occasional email sent from the wrong address. Orbit gives every account its own persistent window and keyboard shortcut, so switching is instant and each account stays isolated from the others.

What we built

  • SwitchingCmd+1 through Cmd+9 jump between accounts instantly. Every window stays loaded in the background, so there's no reload or wait.
  • IsolationEach account runs in its own session container. Work, personal, and client inboxes never share cookies, so replies always leave from the right address.
  • WorkspaceFull Google Workspace per account: Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Meet, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Gemini. Not a rebuilt lookalike.
  • PrivacyNo Orbit account and no server in between. Sessions live locally on the Mac, the same way Safari or Chrome would hold them.

Why native

Orbit is built in Swift on Apple's own frameworks, not Electron. No bundled Chromium runtime, a smaller footprint, and the responsiveness users expect from a Mac-native menu bar app.

Outcome

Launched on Product Hunt. Orbit is now available for download and in active use by people managing multiple Google accounts day to day.
